Friday Faculty Five

Tosca Lee

Welcome to our faculty five post, where you’ll learn five fun facts about the BRMCWC 2017 faculty. This week, we’ll hear from authors Tosca Lee & Lynette Eason, as well as Paula Mowery, acquisitions editor from Prism Book Group, an imprint of Pelican Book Group.

Tosca Lee

  1. Last year I married my love–a single father and farmer–and became an insta-mom to four. I have yet to receive my motherhood manual or energy supplements from the Office of the Comptroller of Parenthood. Please advise.
  2. I love binge watching TV, extra-buttered movie popcorn, playing video games with my kids and sleeping in. I’m a teenager in a 47-year-old’s body.
  3. I live in a house full of boys and a dog who drinks out of the toilet. Every time I sit on a wet bathroom seat, I don’t know who to blame.
  4. I hate to wash my hair but want you to wash yours.
  5. Bacon.

Lynette Eason

  1. I’m very hard of hearing and need people to look at me when they speak to me. So if you call my name and I don’t answer, I’m not ignoring you, I promise!
  2. I adore the show Blue Bloods.
  3. I’m an introvert and would rather observe than participate in many situations.
  4. I eat Gluten Free. #somissmygluten
  5. I hate summer. #takeitoffthecalendar

Paula Mowery

  1. As an interpreter for the deaf, I had to teach my hubby the “dirty” signs so he wouldn’t embarrass deaf church members or me.
  2. I’m addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper and Reese’s eggs, trees, and hearts (these have the proper chocolate to peanut butter ratio) and Peanut Butter M&Ms. My perfect writing motivation.
  3. My daughter says that next to the word “quirky” in the dictionary is my picture. She usually follows that with: “I mean that in a good way. Really.”
  4. A file under my desk contains 15 novels I had written before I submitted and was contracted for my first published book. Now that’s a lot of practice!
  5. Acquiring editor was never on my list of possible positions I would hold. But through circumstances only God could arrange, I fell into this most rewarding job.

  1. Paula, Paula Paula! Now I know why you really offered me a contract for my manuscript. Somehow you instinctively knew that I, too, am addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper and Peanut M&Ms (okay, I’d say peanut butter M&Ms are an awfully close second). And all this time I thought it was just my outstanding writing ability that caught your attention 🙂
