Writer, I  Promise to Pray for you–My New Year’s Resolution

By Cherrilynn Bisbano @bisbanowrites

I don’t usually make New Year’s Resolutions but this year I commit to pray for each of you daily.  I also will post a weekly prayer on the Blue Ridge Writers Facebook page.

Why do I storm the gates of heaven on your behalf?

I pray because you are my brothers and sisters; we all belong to the body of Christ.

I pray because you may experience rejection this year. Rejection is not the end of the world. I think of it as redirection. Remember, God is in control, and He will use you in His time and His place.

I pray because the advisory wants to devour you. His mission is to render the writer useless. He wants you to feel inadequate, alone, and worthless to the kingdom. Face your fear and defeat the evil one with the Word of God and stand firm. God has chosen you for such a time as this.

I pray out of selfish motives. God chose you to proclaim a message that only you can convey. I want to glean from that message.

I pray for fellowship opportunities and long-lasting friendships to be cultivated. Unity in the body begins here on earth.

I pray so that our God will be glorified in every aspect of our lives.

I pray because I know that it is your desire to serve God and please Him.

I pray Colossians 1:9-12

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

I pray Ephesians 3:14-20

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,  and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Imagine how we’d live if we truly allowed these prayers to penetrate our soul?

Will you join me and pray for one another? God  will do amazing things.

Thank you, Cherrilynn! I actually started off the year finding out my novel is being terminated because of low sales. I figured it was coming because it’s been in print for over 5 years, but it still feels sad. And I have choices, so it’s not really a rejection. What I need most is wisdom.

And there’s no one I’d rather have praying for me, Cherrilynn. I know your heart. Love you, my friend!

Thank you for the prayers. I was sitting here editing and amazed at the silly mistakes I make.
You made my morning when I read about the “advisory” wanting to devour me.

Thank you for your prayers, Cherrilynn, for your prayers. You have encouraged me to do the same. We are the body of Christ and unity does begin here. Thank you for that reminder. Becky Antoviak often reminds us that NOWA. No one writes along.

That is an honorable goal, Cherrilynn—I so appreciate your prayers! Your prayer prompts are helpful as I don’t always have adequate words to pray, but my heart is there.
