We Have an App for That!

As mentioned in Friday’s post, The Blue Ridge Conference is going digital. I know change is hard, but we’re doing our best to make the transition as easy as possible. And yes, we have an app for that! Today I’m going to give you a tour of the Blue Ridge Conference app to whet your appetite.

Get the App

First, you have to download the app to your mobile device. It’s compatible with Android or Apple, as well as most tablets. Just search for Ridgecrest Events and download it for free.

The main page of the app is intuitive and user-friendly, but I’ll go through the different parts of it.

Guided Tour of the App

Agenda: This is the conference schedule.

My Schedule: This is a place for you to personalize your own plans for the week.

Breakouts: more in-depth information about specific classes, including the teacher, location and time.

Speakers: This is where you’ll find the faculty bios and list of the classes they’re teaching.

Updates: This is a place for the leadership of the conference to share updates during the event.

Resources: This is for additional things that might help during the conference.

Campus Info: Information about the Ridgecrest campus.

Maps: There are maps of each building, as well as the campus in general.

Area Info: Just in case you want to do any sight-seeing.

The app is still being updated for this year’s event, so be patient with us as we finish the final touches. But now is the time to get familiar with it and begin playing with it.

I’m excited about having everything I need to stay on track with my schedule at my fingertips—without worrying about losing a booklet. I’d love to know your thoughts. Be sure to share them in the comments section below.

  1. Great information, Edie. I wish I could attend this year. Praying for all. You are doing a great job.

  2. Kay Chandler says:

Will there be a genre night, and if so, which night?

  3. Deb DeArmond says:

Help! I love the idea of the app! Eliminating all those pieces of paper made my heart sing! But I spent 2 hours struggling with it. First event added to My Schedule with no problem. The next would not add until I backed out of the app and shut it down entirely, then could go back in and add another. That was frustrating and time consuming, but it was a work around. Next day when I went to review my schedule – it was completely blank!! Anyone else having issues? I waited a couple of days to try again, but it’s still behaving the same way.

  4. Bruce Brady says:

YAY! I’m less likely to lose my phone than my paper schedule. Thanks.

  5. I cannot remember if I registered for the writer”s bootcamp 2017. How do I find out if I did? Thank you so much. Sorry for not keeping track of this.
