The Writer God Uses

By DiAnn Mills @DiAnnMills

We all want God to use our writing to glorify Him and to encourage others to deepen their relationship with the Creator of the universe.

Sometimes we get discouraged.

Sometimes we face loneliness.

Sometimes we want to give in to those who tell us we can’t write.

How does God use the writer? Are there ways we can love God that translate into our writing life and our personal life too?

The following are 12 traits of a writer God uses:

1.  The writer casts aside self for the benefit of others.

2.  The writer connects to God in solitude.

3.  The writer diligently develops his/her craft.

4.  The writer helps other writers to move forward in their craft.

5.  The writer participates in public worship.

6.  The writer places God above all things.

7.  The writer practices integrity.

8.  The writer pursues wisdom.

9.  The writer takes care of his/her body by eating healthy and exercising.

10. The writer trusts God to direct his/her life.

11. The writer understands it’s all about the reader.

12. The writer walks in obedience.

When we reach out to mirror Jesus, the discouragement, loneliness, and naysayers may attack, but we have a powerful God who’s called us to write. He loves us and He has our back.

Are you a writer who God can use?
