Writers here in America are preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving this week. My thought for this blog post was what better month to say a prayer for all of you, my writer colleagues here and around the world. After all, writing is our jobs. While we might not share the same area to work and have cubicles side by side, we’re in this together. Yes, most of the time we write in solitude, as writers, we are not alone. We do have the ability to have other writers to reach out to that understand the complexity of a writer’s life.
I’d like to take this blog post and space in the cyber world to pray for each of you writers who have come here to this blog. No matter where you are in the world and whether or not you’re celebrating a Thanksgiving Day this week, this prayer goes out to all of you.

Lord, thank you for each of the writers reading this blog post. Thank you for gifting them with the calling of writer, in whatever capacity it is for each of them.
Thank you for giving them the message you would have them share as well as the ability to compose sentences and paragraphs to form readable pieces.
Today, Lord, I ask that you would meet each writer where they are when they sit to write. If they’re a new writer, please place folks in their lives to take them to the next level. Or maybe they’re working on their next book and find themselves discouraged and want to quit, remind them of their why—why am I doing this? A seasoned writer may have lost their excitement when first called to write for you. Encourage them to keep at it until you say to stop.
Let each writer seek you each time they sit down to write. May you wipe away the issues above or what is pulling them back even if they haven’t acknowledged them yet. I pray they ask you to be with them as they write before they even hover their hands over their keyboards. Give them the words their current project needs and especially those you’d have them use. Build their trust in their writing because of you, strengthen their faith in your provision of words and grow their desire to walk in obedience in their calling as your scribe.
Father, be with each writer as they strive to write their best, for as we know, all glory goes to you in our work. Guide and direct our words to be the very words someone, someday will need to hear to draw them to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
