Get The Creative Juices Flowing

By Heather Kreke @HKreke

I’m visiting friends before the BRMCWC, so I thought I’d share a fun writing prompt. Here is a list of today’s holidays. International Hamburger Day anyone?!

  • Amnesty International Day
  • Carb Day – May 28, 2021
  • Don’t Fry Day – May 28, 2021 (Friday Before Memorial Day)
  • European Neighbors’ Day – May 28, 2021 (Last Friday in May)
  • Heat Awareness Day – May 28, 2021
  • International Hamburger Day
  • National Brisket Day
  • National Cooler Day – May 28, 2021
  • National Death Busters Day – May 28, 2021 (Friday Before Memorial Day)
  • National Road Trip Day – May 28, 2021
  • National Title Track Day – May 28, 2021 (Fourth Friday in May)
  • National Wig Out Day – May 28, 2021 (Friday before Memorial Day)
  • Slugs Return From Capistrano Day
  • Whooping Crane Day

My challenge to you is:

Pick one of these holidays and write a story, no more than 500 words, about it. Maybe a couple meets at a National Brisket Day cook off, or someone is killed by eating poisoned slugs for Slugs Return From Capistrano Day. Have fun with it, and if you would like, post your story in the comments.
