Red ink. Harsh critiques. Rejections. Watching others pass us on their writing journey. These are all things we deal with as writers. The hard things. The tough things. The things that make us wonder if we chose the right career. If we should give up on our dreams…
As writers, finding things to be thankful for when we’re in the midst of struggling to get the words from our hearts onto the page can prove difficult. But as we enter the season of Thanksgiving and then move onward into the hap-happiest time of the year, it’s important to remember the blessings we’ve received along our journey.

It’s in our DNA. Thanks to the ultimate Creator we get to call Abba Father.
We all have something we desire in our writing journey. Don’t be afraid to dream big.
Especially for fiction writers. Anything can happen in a story…
We each have one. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t have a story to tell.
How often have someone else’s words brought healing to your heart? How about your own words?
Freedom.
It’s what allows us to minister to others.
Both with our Father and those He’s called us to minister to.
Aren’t writers amazing people? We’re not alone, and that’s good to know!
I couldn’t do this without mine.
The grease to our cogs.
We have to start somewhere, right?
A place to get creative – someplace we can make our own.
After working at my dining room table with no way to shut out the family or the dogs, I’m incredibly thankful to have a room with a door I can close in our new home.
They’re far easier to type on than typewriters – and hand cramps from writing with a pen or pencil.
Sometimes the clickity clack is the best sound in the world…
No matter the genre, it inspires.
Because we’re all unique and so is our writing.
In all different colors. You know what I’m talking about.
A place to find all sorts of fun things to envision our stories.
A gathering place for our fans.
Where would we be without them?
Because even writers make mistakes.
I call them family reunions.
…or tea. Or water. Whatever your beverage of choice may be.
In all forms, shapes, and sizes.
Our biggest cheerleaders.
Another place to write when we can’t stand the four walls we’re used to any longer.
God’s inspiration.
Another day to do what we love.
What would you add to the list? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below!

Alycia, This is an inspiring post. I love #24 Conferences are like a family reunion. I love my brothers and sisters so much. I love the worship time together. It’s a glimpse into heaven. Thank you for all you do. God bless you as you serve Him.
Thanks Cherrilynn! That’s probably one of the things I’m most grateful for, as well. Because they truly are when we serve Jesus. We’re getting to see and catch up with all of our brothers and sisters in Christ! 🙂
