Julie Lavender is a journalist, author, speaker, former teacher, former homeschooling mom, and wife to her high school and college sweetheart David, but her two most favorite hats are “mommy” and “grandmommy.” Julie loved being a military wife for twenty years while David served as a medical entomologist for the Navy, a wildlife biologist’s wife while David worked at a nearby Army installation, and now loves being the wife of a recent retiree. Julie is the author of Children’s Advent Stories for Bedtime, Children's Bible Stories for Bedtime, Jumbo Bible Word Search, Raising Good Sons: Christian Parenting Principles for Nurturing Boys of Faith and Character, Strength for All Seasons: A Mom’s Devotional of Powerful Verses and Prayers, 365 Ways to Love Your Child: Turning Little Moments into Lasting Memories, and A Gingerbread House. She's also the coauthor with her husband of 34 kids' educational books for school libraries.
