The Word of God fights for me and encourages me. The only way Scripture can do this is if I commit it to memory.
I understand my brain doesn’t work like it used to. However, if God commands me to write His Word on my heart, won’t He give me the capacity to do so?
Here are 7 tips I use to saturate my heart and mind with His promises.
Choose verses that strengthen your faith and support what God is teaching you right now. Scripture sticks when it speaks to your season.
There’s something powerful about putting pen to paper. Writing a verse slows me down and helps God’s truth settle into my heart.

Review your verse while driving, walking, or waiting in line. Those little moments quickly become big opportunities to hide God’s Word in your heart.
When I learn the context and meaning of a verse, remembering it becomes much easier. God’s Word isn’t meant to be collected; it’s meant to be lived.
Turn Scripture into a conversation with God. His Word moves from my head to my heart when I begin praying it.
Don’t just memorize new verses. Revisit the old ones often because repetition turns familiar verses into lifelong companions.
When my heart is filled with God’s Word, my writing naturally reflects His truth, and that’s far more powerful than anything I could create on my own.
